About Me

I started this blog when I was pregnant with my first child. I was put on bedrest at 34 weeks and had lots of free time to browse the internet searching for tips to get back into shape post-baby.  An ex-collegiate athlete, I gave up on running for a couple of years. After our first child was born in 2009,  I was ready to get back into shape and accomplish some goals.

So while this blog started out as a running/fitness blog, I realized through this process that I love to run but also really enjoy writing and having a forum to share my thoughts and connect with other moms, runners, and athletes. I named my blog running on faith because, like life, running is all about faith…faith in yourself, faith in your body, faith that you can do something you never thought you could achieve. As a little girl my mom cross stitched the verse from Isaiah 40:13 “but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

I try to keep this attitude in mind as I take on the challenges I face in life  as I navigate this world as a stay at home mom to an active toddler all the while trying to find time for myself to seek out my own personal goals as a runner, mom, friend, writer, and yoga enthusiast.

  1. Hi there! You have such a beautiful little family! I so envy people who have been lifetime runners, as running is something I have only gotten into as an adult. I would love to find out more about how your running went post-baby, as that’s what I’ll be experiencing at the end of this year! I subscribed to your blog and look forward to reading more of your posts.

PS – Would you believe, that I too, have a dog named Elvis? Nuts, right? He’s a weenie dog though. :)

    • thanks so much! yes, i have been running for a while but i really admire people who pick up these healthy habits later on too! I did not run much when I was pregnant and I’m hoping to keep it up more when I decide to have another but great job on keeping up your training/mileage during this time! It will make your return to running post-baby much easier!
