base building..

Well, I have not blogged in a while.  And, I have not run in a while either.  After our summer trip to Chicago so many things happened.  I started back at work part-time, Olivia started crawling, we got sick, I ended up with plantar facscitis, and we had lots of family visits.

So, now that things are calming down a bit (and my foot is starting to feel better), I went out for my first run in about a week and a half.  I ran about 20 minutes (which was roughly 2.25 to 2.5 miles).  My foot felt okay.  Not painful, just tight.  So, I am going to have to do lots of stretching and running.  I desperately want to join the local training group for the half-marathon training which starts late August, so I am hoping I am able to build some base mileage by then so I can run.  I just don’t want to risk re-injuring myself as I try to build mileage.  But, I desperately need to run and get back into working out again.  I have lapsed the past month and I feel so sluggish and ugh!  I just need to make sure I can get myself up and moving in the morning!! Thankfully, Miss Olivia is sleeping later so this is possible!
